Inquiring Brides want to know:
  • Who will be performing at my wedding? Roy Elder, owner of Live Wire Productions will be your DJ. In the event when he is not available due to a booking before yours, you will be notified at the earliest possible moment, and we will book another DJ for you through LWP, if that suits you. We always have a disaster recovery plan should Roy become incapacitated for whatever reason. Bridal Bargains will tell you: "The biggest pitfall couples encounter with (the entertainment) at their wedding is hiring one set of entertainers and getting another set at your wedding." (p.273)
  • Do you have professional equipment? Most definitely. At Live Wire Productions we take prodigious care of staying ahead of the curve where DJ equipment technology is concerned. Brands we use include: Denon, Peavy, Mackie, Rane, & Shure. We also take care to have all legally purchased and licensed music. We have redundant systems, so if one system goes, we will have an immediate backup ready to go. Bridal Bargains will tell you: "Novice DJ's are most likely to use home stereo equipment from Radio Shack…Experienced DJ's have professional equipment (amplifiers and speakers)." (p.247)
  • How do we choose the music? There is a "most popular" music list we can send out to you. We can find out what you would like or not like played during our bridal appointment before the wedding. Also, there is a form on this website for your pertinent wedding information that we can instantly have that lets you list the songs you will or will not want played. Bridal Bargains will tell you: "If the entertainer is evasive about this question, or replies that they "have a standard set they always play," you may want to look elsewhere." (p.274)
  • Can we see you perform at a wedding? This is probably the most asked question of us that we have a hard time answering. While we would love for you to come and view us at a local event, it would be up to that venue/couple. We want you to put yourself in that person's shoes. Would you want someone coming to your wedding? Are you really going to be able to gauge our talents for a 10 minute evaluation? My best advice is to ask for recent references, which are available upon request. If you're worried about our professionalism, dress, or equipment, we can do a professional dress meeting. Bridal Bargains will tell you: "Most entertainers should let you attend an upcoming reception, with the permission of that bride and groom, of course… If you can't see that DJ live, you might…call a few recently-married couples for references." (p.274)
  • How many breaks will you take? None. With the exception of a bathroom break or two during a song, you will not see us leave the DJ area. There will be continuous music played throughout your event, unless it is per your request.
